DELEON TO TOUR WITH LEGENDARY BRAZILIAN ROCKERS OS MUTANTES
8/25/09 (New York, NY) - What do Os Mutantes, Gogol Bordello, Mike Gordon (Phish), Ozomatli and Balkan Beat Box all have in common?
They've all toured with DeLeon!
JDub Records is very excited to announce that Spanish-Jewish indie/psych rockers DeLeon will be joining seminal Tropicalia act Os Mutantes on their fall tour. The tour, in support of Os Mutantes' new album Haih or Amortecedor, will bring DeLeon to 18 cities. This string of dates also includes a very special hometown show at NYC's Webster Hall, along with an appearance at the famed Pop Montreal Festival in Canada.
DeLeon has long drawn comparisons to new tour-mates Os Mutantes. Heeb Magazine said their debut album was “a dizzying ride that answers the question, what if the Os Mutantes were Jewish?” CMJ loved DeLeon's “seamless swirls of low-rent loft rock and Spanish-crooned sunset laments.”
